Clean.

Sand out, oil out, the fine fraction polished away — a buried treatment train that engineers can specify and size.

What happens here

Three stages, one buried line.

Runoff from a working industrial yard is not clean water. It carries grit from traffic, hydrocarbons from vehicles and plant, and a fine suspended fraction that will not settle on its own. Discharging it untreated is increasingly not an option — and on many sites it is simply not permitted.

The treatment line handles it in sequence, in the same modular polypropylene body used everywhere else in the system.

1 · Sand separator

Flow slows and the heavy fraction drops out — grit, silt and road sand collect in the base for periodic removal. This protects everything downstream.

2 · Oil separator

Hydrocarbons, being lighter than water, rise and are held at the surface behind a baffle. Coalescent modules encourage fine droplets to merge into larger ones so they separate reliably rather than passing through.

3 · Sorption stage

The final polish. Sorption cassettes capture the residual dissolved and finely dispersed fraction that mechanical separation cannot reach. Cassettes are replaceable from the surface through the service neck.

Configurations

The three stages can be specified as a full train or in pairs, depending on what the discharge consent requires:

  1. Full train — sand separator + oil separator + sorption unit.
  2. Sand + oil — where no sorption polish is required.
  3. Oil + sorption — where grit is already removed upstream.

Access for inspection, sludge removal and cassette replacement is from the surface — no confined-space entry for routine service.
